In 2005, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino helped bring Frank Miller’s epic graphic novel series, Sin City to the big screen in truly unique fashion. Sin City was visually like nothing we’d seen before, and the story was as gritty, violent and downright dark as the graphic novels were. It had an all star cast that brought together three intertwined stories, and was able to make a live action film really feel like a comic book. Seven years later, Rodriguez is back to bring another of Frank Miller’s works to life. Check out the new ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ Trailer
The film looks to have another solid all star cast, with some of the actors from the original cast reprising their roles. Notable returnees are Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson. New cast members include the likes of Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The film will follow a similar structure as the previous installment, with multiple smaller plots blending in and out of one another, and will likely jump back and forth in time, touching on some things that happened along with Sin City. It will likely be high on violence, sex and drugs as was the prior, but will be oozing with style and cool writing in Frank Miller’s famous style.
Plot details are thin but for those of you who like to read the books first, check out the second in the Sin City series, but note that two of the stories were written exclusively for the film.
The film is set for release in August of this year.
