Somewhat overshadowed by the huge release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, the latest teaser for Quentin Tarantino’s drama filled production The Hateful Eight has also hit the scene today. The trailer gives us no actual footage, but it certainly sets the tone with plenty of Tarantino style and a cartoon breakdown of the names of each member of ‘The Hateful Eight’. It’s actually pretty exciting, considering it’s not real footage, and gives us a glimpse into the Western genre styling he’ll be using, perhaps similar to that of Django Unchained.
The film of course has a massive cast filled with big names and Tarantino regulars, but the biggest news with this film is that it’s even getting made. After an unexpected leak of the script occurred, Tarantino went into a bit of a rage, and stated that he’d be publishing the script, shelving the project and moving onto another one. Apparently the script was just too promising, and he’s obviously gone back on that claim. I’m glad personally, as I love a good Western and I love a good Tarantino movie.
The film will star Tarantino regulars Michael Madsen, Samuel L. Jackson and Tim Roth, but also the likes of Channing Tatum, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern and Zoe Bell. It’s a great list, and each member is sure to transform into some ridiculously exaggerated, awesome character. You can head over to Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB to see exactly which actor will fill each role highlighted in the trailer, but the important thing is that there will be a lot of characters, and nobody does films with a ton of characters quite as well as Tarantino.
The Hateful Eight is set to be released this year!
