Well folks, the 2014 Oscars are in the books and what a year it was. Ellen DeGeneres hosted the show and provided a lot of laughs and even managed to break Twitter in the process, with one of the most star studded selfies in history. All in all, there were a lot of well deserved winners and some losers who were well deserving of an Oscar themselves. Our favorite moments of the night included some of the following:
- fantastic speechs from Lupita Nyong’o, Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett and plenty of others.
- Ellen DeGegeneres had some great gags, and managed to break twitter with an epic selfie including Angelina Jolie, Kevin Spacey, Bradley Cooper and Meryl Streep
- Jennifer Lawrence fell down. Again.
- Jared Leto went political with mentions of the Ukraine and Venezuela. Check those out here
- Ellen ordered a pizza which arrived in the hands of a very lucky pizza delivery man, and gave out slices t oa variety of celebrities, including Harrison Ford, who appeared completely hammered or extremely tired.
- Pink’s rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, to a Wizard of Oz backdrop was surprisingly incredible and really nostalgic. A big highlight.
That’s just a few of our favorite moments, but there were many others. All in all, here’s to a great year in movies, and the hopes of another in 2014.
